National behavioural change campaign on sanitation and hygiene.
Nyumba Ni Choo is the National Sanitation Campaign implemented by the Government through the Ministry of Health, Community Development, Gender, Elderly and Children (MoHCDGEC). We use the channels on the right to deliver a campaign message to the target audience.
On Television
The campaign uses different Television programmes and services. TV programs are used for airing behaviour change communication messages targeting heads of households to upgrade their latrines and wash hands with soap. Read More

To amplify and sustain the campaign, the campaign utilises digital media. This is done by the creation of fast, reactive contents that completely hits the mark and sparks that get the campaign to reach the target audience. Read More
The campaign calls for households to construct and use improved latrines.
Currently, between 55 and 65% of households still use unimproved facilities, while 8 to 12% have no facility at all. Furthermore, the actual practice of handwashing with soap at critical times is low; between 15 and 30%. The campaign calls for households to construct and use improved latrines.
